Milan to Athens

Well this morning we were ready to leave having not really slept all night we were knackered but ready to go, so after a brief breakfast we were checked out and being transferred again to the airport to catch our plane to Athens, we arrived and the airport was very quiet so we breezed through check in and security and was in departures in no time, now like a prat I had forgotten to pack any swim shorts so we hoped we could get some in the shops, But being Milan they were all high end designer shops and we did find a shop that sold shorts but they were 225 euros each so we gave up on that idea. We did buy some nice after shave though at around the same price but it is very nice. We boarded the plane and was delighted to hear our flight time was 2 hours to Athens, Aegean was our airline today and it was a nice quick flight we even got free hot meal and drinks onboard, we arrived in Athens and was pleased the weather was great and our pre arranged driver was waiting for us so we were on our way to the hotel some 45 minutes away, we had heard that the guys from the US were at the hotel and had checked in. So when we arrived we felt like crap but reached out to the guys but with no answer we figured they were catching some sleep as they were 8 hours off and no doubt very tired. So we both showered and got ready to meet the guys, but first Lorna had some birthday cards and presents to open. She was very happy but now needed a birthday drink so we headed up to the rooftop bar/restaurant and got a great seat overlooking the Acropolis. JJ and Brandon appeared first and it was great to see them again after such a long time and we got a round of drinks and started to catch up. Bill came down a little later and joined us, we had not met him before so it was great to finally meet him, we got installed in the bar and in no time were getting very loud as per usual. Our dinner was booked for 7:30 and we shifted to our dinner table and continued to cause havoc, the meal was lovely and the scenery and restaurant was amazing. They even had a birthday cake for Lorna which was lush. Bill was feeling the strain and decided to call it a night and retired off to bed, the 4 of us rejoined the bar and resumed where we had left off. OMG it got very loud and there was even a breakage of a glass Lorna had somehow dropped. I think we stayed up to about 1:30am before calling it a night. I was so great to see the guys and and also to meet Bill. So a good nights sleep was had by all, and with a reasonable time tomorrow to meet we could even sleep in. So happy birthday Lorna and we are all looking forward to our cruise tomorrow.
